We use the latest array-based technology from Affymetrix based on RNA expression, SNP profiling and DNA re-sequencing. For array-based expression we use the U133 2.0 Plus array containing more than 60.000 human transcripts. Thus, we are able to measure the expression status of the entire human genome in the tumor of a cancer patient. We also use Affymetrix arrays optimized for paraffin-embedded tissue.
For measuring the distribution of hundred thousand single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) across the human genome we apply the Human Mapping 100K arrays. This technology allows the determination of micro-deletions and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) across the genome of tumor cells.
We can also use custom arrays designed for the re-sequencing of selected genes, which for example contain all components of a cancer-specific pathway or members of a specific receptor family and their ligands.
